Chart-topping successes give Tom a namecheck in Forbes 30 under 30 Entertainment List

Former Drama St Mary’s student Tom Grennan has been named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Entertainment list for Europe 2024.

Tom graduated from St Mary’s University, Twickenham in 2016, after completing an undergraduate degree in Drama and Physical Theatre. St Mary’s is one of the four Catholic universities in the UK.

That same year Tom released his first EP “Something in the Water”, with his first studio album “Lighting Matches” following in 2018 and reaching No. 5 on the UK albums chart.

Since then, Tom has had two UK No. 1 albums with “Evering Road” in 2021 and “What Ifs & Maybes” in 2023. In 2023 Tom won the “Best UK Act” award at the MTV EMAs, and was nominated for two Brit Awards in 2022.

The Forbes 30 Under 30 Entertainment list spotlights the next generation of talent in the entertainment industry, and features musicians, actors, filmmakers, writers, directors, and those working in entertainment businesses.

The list was put together by editors Rina Sawayama, Neeraja Raj, Simona Tabasco, and Conny Zhang.

Speaking about St Mary’s, Tom previously said, “I wouldn’t be doing what I am if I hadn’t come to university; especially here. I had those three years to learn about myself, leave the nest, and it’s so important to be able to do that.”
