Liverpool Hope University ranked top in North West in 2024 National Student Survey

Liverpool Hope University has been ranked as the best in the North West in six categories in the 2024 National Student Survey (NSS).

In the latest results released on Wednesday 10 July, Liverpool Hope was named number one across all higher education institutions in the region in the following areas:

– Learning opportunities
– Assessment and feedback
– Academic support
– Student voice
– Mental wellbeing services
– Freedom of expression

Liverpool Hope’s – which is one of four Catholic universities in England – scores in these six categories, as well as the Students’ Union category, also saw them rank within the top 10 nationally.

Organised by the Office for Students, the NSS is one of the largest of its kind in the world.

This year, just under 346,000 (72.3% overall response rate) final year undergraduate students from 130 higher education institutions participated in the survey, which asks them to share their thoughts on a range of topics relating to their university experience.

Liverpool Hope has achieved a strong set of results across the board, rising up the rankings in every category to reflect how positively it compares with other universities on both a national and regional level.

In addition to finishing first in the North West in six categories, the University also ranked second in the region for teaching, organisation and management and for its Students’ Union.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr Penny Haughan, said: “We are extremely proud of this year’s National Student Survey results.

“To be recognised as the top university in the North West in six categories is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing an outstanding university experience which places students at the heart of everything we do.

“This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our staff and the Students’ Union and I thank them all for the role they have played in delivering these excellent results.

“I would also like to thank every student who took the time to complete the survey. We really value the feedback as it provides a valuable insight into how we can improve and we will use these results to continue to develop the student experience at Liverpool Hope.”
