New Director of Education for Archdiocese of Birmingham announced
The Archdiocese of Birmingham has appointed a new Director of Education to promote, communicate and implement the Archbishop’s vision for Catholic education in the Archdiocese.
Steve Bell is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Painsley Catholic Academy- a multi academy company comprising of 16 schools in Staffordshire.
Steve joins the Diocesan Education Service (DES) on an initial two-year part time secondment. As Director of Education, Steve’s role will be to promote, communicate and implement the Archbishop’s vision for Catholic education in the Archdiocese.
“The role aims to build capacity, trust and strong relationships within the Archdiocesan family of schools; facilitating collaboration between MACs and schools to achieve continual school improvement and raise aspirations to be the school of choice for parents and children in the local area,” the archdiocese said in an announcement on its website.
Steve will formally start his new role during week commencing 13th November 2023 and will increase his time with the DES from January 2024.
Eric Kirwan, the Archdiocese of Birmingham’s Chief Operating Officer said: “We are delighted to have appointed Steve Bell as Director of Education for the Birmingham Diocesan Education Service.
“We are looking forward to working closely with Steve as we fulfil the Diocesan Vision for Catholic education in our schools.”
