Birmingham Men’s Rosary in the City group to hold rosary rally tomorrow

October has been the month of the Holy Rosary, and in Birmingham the Men’s Rosary in the City group has been encouraging men to unite to pray the rosary publicly, and be a witness to the world.

At the month draws to its end there will be a Rosary rally tomorrow (Saturday 26 October), assembing in the city’s Victoria Square at midday.

Attendees will be asked to pray for: the conversition of the city and our nation, reparation for sins committed by men, a culture that values all life from conception, and the domestic Church and men to step up to their God-given vocation as protector, defender and servant.

Earlier this year over 150 men united together outside St Chad’s Cathedral to pray the rosary. The men were joined by His Grace Archbishop Bernard Longley, Fr Michael Dolman (Rector of Oscott College) amongst many other Priests and Deacons.

“We are living at the crossroads of history. Christianity in general is suffering the negative consequences of the secularisation process, as Christian morals are put aside as no longer relevant in modern society,” said group spokesman Ben Thatcher.

“The devastating effect of this ongoing process is quite noticeable in many areas of life: increased criminality, broken families, explosion of pornography and abortion rates at a record high.

“So today, more than ever we need to keep the Fatima message close to our hearts by fostering and promoting Christian values in the family and society in general. Our Lady of Fatima asked repeatedly that we pray, an important tool to obtain peace and the conversion of sinners. Meditating on the joyful, sorrowful, glorious, and luminous mysteries of the Rosary brings us into closer union with Christ, Our Lord, who is our only hope.

“We would encourage all parishes, especially those in and around Birmingham to join us.”
